Joe Williams, Partner, Designer, and Technologist

I’ve been working in the field of human performance improvement for more than 25 years designing, managing, and consulting on numerous projects for business, industry, and public education. In 1991, I founded Exegi and have helped clients like Charles Schwab, 3Com, HP, and Safeway meet a variety of performance challenges.

Prior to founding my own company, I worked for over five years with Bank of America consulting on the implementation of training technologies and managing several eLearning development projects. For two years, I worked with independent consulting firms to design and develop interactive video applications for companies such as AT&T and Nissan. In addition, I developed training and communication materials for public utilities and financial institutions. Prior to that, I designed and developed technical training courses for National Semiconductor.

I have made presentations before regional and national organizations, and reviewed and edited literature in the field. Recently, I contributed to Allison Rossett’s updated edition of First Things Fast: A Handbook for Performance Analysis and co-wrote an article with her on Performance Analysis and Web 2.0.

I earned a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Education Technology from San Diego State University and have taught graduate courses in Educational Technology.
